Richard Pandiscio says he had been in the market for an oceanfront home along the Space Coast. But when he and his partner, Todd Eberle, were told by their real estate agent about the Hacienda del Sol property on south Merritt Island, they switched course. They bought the historic home at 205 Hacienda Drive along the Indian River in a $6 million cash deal that closed this month, making it the second-highest residential real estate transaction on record in Brevard County. Previous owners of the property ― which has more than 22,000 square feet of living space on a 7.6-acre site ― include Wendy's restaurant chain founder Dave Thomas and cruise line owner Bjornar Hermansen.
